Status Update

Hey everybody,

Ok, so this forward momentum keeps changing every two seconds. Things have barely moved forward since the last update, so I didn't think it'd be worth making an update. However, you guys requested them, so I'll keep to your wishes.

Last email from FAPCOM was on 13th last month, which he said he was upset things weren't getting done on his end as well, and that he needed to sort out some errands for next year. Again, we have lives to uphold outside of this project.

Again, Controls are:

WSAD - Move
CTRL - Sprint (New)
Left Mouse - Use/Fire (Only use at the moment)

Menu - W, S - Move, Z - Select

Updates include:

- Blob of death (that is going to be an enemy)
- Intro cutscenes going up to the first proper level
- some 3D sound, going to play with it a lot more for this game
- Music

Bear in mind that no animations are done yet, and most sprites/tiles are placeholders.

  1. good, bad or no news we are just happy when you post stuff so we know this is still around^^

    make sure you tell FAP that it is ok to take his time, he has his rl stuff to deal with and i know everyone understands it and also taking time with the game itself means it will be better in the long run ^^

    well i think i should check out the keep sane game but is it a problem trying to keep sane when you're already crazy? XD

    1. Mm, I am worried about lack of progress though. I do hate it all taking so long.

      Lol don't have to be sane to play the game, I'm not either haha.

  2. It isn't quite clear that it is necessary to do in game.
    There are only three possible directions; in two of them there is an invisible wall, the third conducts to the enemy from whom it is simple to escape... while is where to run as all three ways rest against the deadlock. "Left Mouse", judging by the description, now is responsible for action, but with beds I tried to interact, and it is more than anything and isn't present.
    I am in a stupor it because of a sleep debt, or while it is really impossible anything, except how to die?

    1. It's very short, I'm still working out all the little bits of gameplay. I will be extending the intro section, but for now, go over to the first enemy, then run back and follow the arrows to the elevator, which you can left click the elevator button when you're inside.

      What does "web" mean? Repeatedly I tried to pass through it, but didn't notice any visible effects. Or it is the so roughly drawn "X"?

      Controls not the convenient. If to hold the right hand on a mouse, to press Ctrl (run) by a finger of the left hand it won't turn out, in any case, from the first attempt, so, "black blobe of death" will very quickly send the player to forefathers as a usual course from them far you won't leave.
      It is possible to rearrange in future updatings run on other key, or to allow to change controls?

    3. No problem. If you check out the post above, there's the latest version of it there (If you don't have that).

      Yeah, it's a roughly drawn 'X'. At certain points I will be going for that rough drawn style. It'll look better though.

      Hm, I'll look into changing controls (I did it for RE:P, so it's just a case of moving that coding over.) Need to make an option menu first :P
      In terms of how I play it, right hand on mouse, and I use my little finger for the CTRL, ring finger for A, middle for W/S, and index for D.

      Also, in regards to your other post, the elevator does work. The click-able area is quite precise, and it only works if you're not right at the front of the elevator. I'll work on it to make it a bit easier.

  3. One more note: having reached the elevator, it isn't possible to press the button (even having turned to it) so the creature gets into the elevator together with the player, with fatal consequences.
    The elevator works in this version? Or simply at me hands not from there grow?

  4. Oh yeah when i play the Resident Evil:Progeny and when those zombie got me theres a red 'submit' in the left down corner, what that thing do anyway?
